I started this at the beginning of the year (2016). I made a goal to live simply. Get rid of anything extra. Only keep things that make me happy or are useful. Pretty much everything else goes.
A month ago I had a garage sale for what I called the “first wave”. This was stuff I just boxed up from each room in the house. I had three truck loads worth of stuff. I made $400+ and I haven’t missed one thing.
Now I am in fine tuning mode. Since the sale, I have realized some of the stuff I was holding on to, just wasn’t needed. So they are going in boxes too. Eventually those boxes that are piling up in the bed of the truck will go to charity. And I will be left with a home full of 1. things that make me happy and 2. things that are useful.
I also decided to clean up my online “life”. I got rid of all the spam mail (it took over a week to unsubscribe to every one of them). I cleaned up my “friends” on face book. Closed down accounts I no longer used. I deleted content on my computer that I never look at. And I am still working on fine tuning it. I started this blog and another for my acting. And that is really all I have going now. No more tumber, twitter, facebook noise. Just things that bring meaning to my life and make me happy.
Tomorrow I am tackling my wardrobe. I am going to live with a capsule wardrobe for a bit. See how that goes.
I also started a bullet journal. Seriously think this is the best thing to ever happen to me. Everything about me all in one place. This is exactly what I needed. I will be sharing more on that as it develops.
I hope you enjoy reading my blog as much as I enjoy writing it.
